     Welcome to my website!  Oma Learning Academy, is focused on 'Helping students bloom and blossom into independent and confident learners.'

 

      My name is Ms. Nwaifejokwu. Also known as Oma. I am a New York State certified educator with over 18 years of teaching experience within the public and private sectors of teaching. I am certified by NY state as a general education teacher as well as a special education teacher. I possess a Masters degree for teaching from Hunter College.  As an educator, I have taught pre-k to 5th grade.  I have experience working with the ASD Nest Program, servicing students on the Autistic Spectrum.  I also have ABA and Special Instruction experience as an Early Intervention provider.  Lastly, as a NYC DOE teacher; I administered the Gifted and Talented test to prospective students for over 7 years.

      My job as a teacher has given me a wealth of experience.  I view teaching as more than a job because it is my passion.  I feel blessed to be doing something that I love.  Helping students grow and develop into critical thinkers, who can independently navigate academically brings me so much joy.  As a teacher who has the additional background of special education, I am able to trouble shoot and address the challenges that arise in student learning,
